[AFMI]To the Co-harvesters
David S. Lim Dear co-harvesters, A BLESSED NEW DECADE to you! May this new start find you in the best of health, physically and spiritually, even as we seek to do our part to accelerate God¡¯s harvest in this big, fast-paced world! We are actually entering the 2nd decade of the 21st century, and the past 10 years have been full of big challenges, esp. with the resurgence of religions and rise of militant Islam. It¡¯s been a really big disappointment for most of us, esp. those of us who have longed and labored for the fulfillment of the Great Commission, so that the end will come (Mt. 24:14)...
[AFMI]Editorial Comment¡¦. What kind of mission do you think?
The Gospel is Jesus Himself who is the Word of God among us. It is not something about Jesus, but Jesus Himself. When we, those who reflect on the life of Jesus, reside in an unreached community, the incarnation of Jesus continues. The Pharisees and the teachers of the law who had much knowledge about God didn¡¯t understand what the Gospel was. The Gospel is not a clear knowledge about salvation, but Jesus who restores our relationship with God. Much knowledge about God doesn¡¯t guarantee any intimacy in the relationship. The Gospel has its intrinsic nature that is relational. The good relat...

[AFMI]Feedback from an alumnus of AFMI 100 Training
When I joined AFMI 100, I seemed to be focused on myself. But it is not enough preparation. I now think of my church and family. Readiness to cope with field situation is important¡¦ This seems to be met partly. It was helpful to widen the horizon in understanding what I should do for mobilization. I need strong mission oriented church so that many more workers can be sent. AFMI 100 widened my vision and this is what I should share with others in my home country. I started to think of Asians/Asian context more than ever before. I can share what I have learned through AFMI 100 with others in m...
[AFMI]AFMI Training School : 7 Sep—3 Oct 2009
A small modification was made for the training this year in terms of the contents and the length. Last year 12 Asians (Korea, Philippines, Indonesia) finished the first 40 days lecture module led by Chong K.(BB), Kevin H.(GT), John K.(INS), Mimi(WBT), Bill(Philip), and Gary W.(GT) and then some of them joined field practice for a month and following debriefing and strategy coordination led by John K. It took almost 100 days. For this year AFMI provided much more intensive and selected lecture subjects in a shorter period, i.e. 4 weeks. Chong K. John K. Gary W. and Young K. (Dean, AFMI Trainin...
[AFMI]¡°AMLF 2009¡± Sketch
Asian Mission Leader¡¯s Forum was held at KL on 2-5 Sep 2009 as an international joint forum between Asian Frontier Mission Initiative and International Society for Frontier Missiology. The main theme was ¡°Global Cooperation¡±, ¡°Asian Initiative¡± and ¡°Frontier Mission & Insider Perspective¡±. On 2 Sep, opening service was held at Vision Centre. Rory C. from USCWM shared his congratulatory message whole heartedly by saying ¡°Brothers and sisters, the issues we will be grappling with are...
[AFMI]Purpose and Objectives of ASFM (Asia Society for Frontier Missions)
called ¡°Asia Society for Frontier Missions¡±. (See another sections for more details.) The purpose of ASFM is to promote cutting edge thinking and sharing on an international level with a specific focus on Asia and/or Asians in the area of frontier missiology. The six main objectives: To promote within the global Christ-following community the cause of the Asian peoples who have the least access to the gospel. To encourage and empower Asians to be more effective reflective practitioners and take greater responsibility toward reaching the UPGs of Asia through cooperation and sharing of resour...
[AFMI]The 1st Int¡¯l Joint Forum by AFMI and ISFM at KL
Asian Frontier Mission Initiative now based in KL was launched on Feb 2008. Various mission leaders and field practitioners were asking for feedback about what AFMI planned to initiate in order to accelerate Asian mobilization for the Frontier Mission. As a result of that, AFMI started a new training program called ¡°AFMI 100¡± on Sep 2008, solely focused on ¡°Insider-Frontier Mission Perspective¡±. And the second training was held right after the Asian Mission Leader¡¯s Forum at the same place on Sep—Oct 2009. It was running by interactive/inductive/relational way of teaching/lecturin...
