[AFMI]AFMI Training School : 7 Sep—3 Oct 2009
A small modification was made for the training this year in terms of the contents and the length. Last year 12 Asians (Korea, Philippines, Indonesia) finished the first 40 days lecture module led by Chong K.(BB), Kevin H.(GT), John K.(INS), Mimi(WBT), Bill(Philip), and Gary W.(GT) and then some of them joined field practice for a month and following debriefing and strategy coordination led by John K. It took almost 100 days. For this year AFMI provided much more intensive and selected lecture subjects in a shorter period, i.e. 4 weeks. Chong K. John K. Gary W. and Young K. (Dean, AFMI Trai...

[AFMI]The 1st Int¡¯l Joint Forum by AFMI and ISFM at KL
Asian Frontier Mission Initiative now based in KL was launched on Feb 2008. Various mission leaders and field practitioners were asking for feedback about what AFMI planned to initiate in order to accelerate Asian mobilization for the Frontier Mission. As a result of that, AFMI started a new training program called ¡°AFMI 100¡± on Sep 2008, solely focused on ¡°Insider-Frontier Mission Perspective¡±. And the second training was held right after the Asian Mission Leader¡¯s Forum at the same place on Sep—Oct 2009. It was running by interactive/inductive/relational way of teaching/lectu...
[AFMI]Experience God Through Great Bible Study An introduction to Inductive Study
Picture a scientist going about some great work. He or she is searching for the cure for some horrible disease, or making a marvelous new discovery. First, the scientist digs for facts, looking deeply, studying carefully, investigating every clue, relentlessly hunting for any and every fact that will make the discovery deeper, richer, and more accurate. Then, the scientist ponders what the facts mean, finally coming up with a theory. After much more testing, the scientist is ready to put the theory into practice, to apply it. This is a picture of ¡°inductive¡± study. ¡°Inductive¡± means g...
[AFMI]CATALYST
One implication is that we are focused on developing training that avoids the process of simply exporting a culturally conditioned model for missionary work. We do this by training based upon a foundation of INDUCTIVE STUDY OF THE BIBLE using large sections, even whole books.WHY BASE THE TRAINING IN INDUCTIVE STUDY OF LARGE SECTIONS OF SCRIPTURE? Perhaps the most important answer is that the inductive method returns scripture to its rightful place as the PRIMARY ministry training textbook. The scriptures present us with an amazing array of leaders, church plants, pastoral case studies...

[AFMI]Feedback from an alumnus of AFMI 100 Training
When I joined AFMI 100, I seemed to be focused on myself. But it is not enough preparation. I now think of my church and family. Readiness to cope with field situation is important¡¦ This seems to be met partly. It was helpful to widen the horizon in understanding what I should do for mobilization. I need strong mission oriented church so that many more workers can be sent. AFMI 100 widened my vision and this is what I should share with others in my home country. I started to think of Asians/Asian context more than ever before. I can share what I have learned through AFMI 100 with others in my...
