RECOMMENDED VACCINATIONS FOR NORTH AFRICA
Dear friends,
The recommended vaccinations for persons coming to or living in North Africa are the following:
Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis: Full course of vaccination.
Last update less than 5 years ago.
Poliomyelitis: Full course of vaccination.
Last update less than 5 years ago.
Measles/ Mumps/ Rubella: Full course (2 vaccinations)
Hepatitis A: Full course for persons over two years of age.
Hepatitis B: Full course, can be given already after birth.
There is a combined Hepatitis A and B vaccination available.
Haemophilus Influenzae type B: Full course for children under 5 years.
BCG: Vaccination for children under 5 years who have
a negative skin test.
Rabies: Strongly advised for people who want to travel around.
Typhoid: Strongly advised for people who want to travel around.
Meningococcal Meningitis: Optional. If done, advisable to have the injection
containing A,C,Y, W135.
